how do you process your anger? how do you navigate through negative emotions? what do they look like? these were the questions that occupied my mind as i created this artwork, channeling my frustration and confusion that arose from interactions with my partner. "a ng er" (2022) encapsulates the rawness and vulnerability that arise from intimate connections, particularly during moments of friction. the artwork invites contemplation, encouraging the viewer to reflect on their transformative power of self-expression. throughout the artistic process i successfully learned to transfer my well-practiced technique of working with acrylic paints and palette knives to a new medium - oil. through dedication and perseverance, i excelled in adapting my skills to the world of oil painting. this transition allowed me to achieve a deeper and more intense expression of emotions, expanding my artistic horizons. i am proud to say that i successfully transcended boundaries and embraced the challenges of working with oil, resulting in significant artistic growth.
